About the event

HEFFI is...

'The Helsinki Education Film Festival International'

Videos and films are the latest, most commonly used, and most engaging medium of information in our time. HEFFI is specifically designed for this purpose  - to educate the new generation through films.

Indulge yourself with a host of locally-made and independent films. This is your chance to see a range of film productions, private screeningss, get new ideas, and even make contact with the up and coming stars and grassroots of filmmaking.

One short film from 2021 in particular got the attention of SeTs from an education stand point, that of "Making an Edcom" by Dr. David Stolin. It was both interesting and fun to watch, and, educational from an education professionals perspective.

Now in its fourth year and growing rapidly with over 60 films selected from the submissions, the festival includes screenings, workshops, discussion, and cultural activities in collaboration with the City of Helsinki, local educational institutions and business companies.

Helsinki Education Film Festival International (also known as HEFFI) was established for the purpose of improving education  and  learning experience through films. To this end, HEFFI is also platform for filmmakers and educators by show, share, exchange ideas and methods, including non-traditional ways that will open greater opportunities for collaboration for further development of education.

SeTs works as part of the HEFFI team in collaboration KEG oy and SDI ry. We will also post a blog about the event and provide a discussion forum for those interested in reading and chatting about what they saw and experienced at the event. We will publish a notice and link from this event nearer the time. In the mean time, anyone attending (RSVP) this event can join our study group to meet, greet and chat with other festival goers.

We are always looking for partnership with academic institutions, business companies and individuals in Finland and abroad, who share common vision and mission in utilising films (videos) for the improvement of learning.
